Lauterbrunnen Valley and legend Museum

The museum building is named "The Mill". Here grain was ground, probably until the middle of the 19th century. The millstone can be seen on the small building forecourt. The owner of the mill was also a baker and grocer.

In the Lauterbrunnen Valley Museum you can see what a hotel room looked like around 1900, the kind of skis that were used for the first Lauberhorn Skiraces and how the alpine farmers lived in the past.

Since 2019, the Valley Museum has become the Valley and Legend Museum. The mighty nature of the Lauterbrunnen valley has always impressed its inhabitants. Alemannic settlers with their Nordic influenced mythology and immigrants from the Lötschental, with their Walser culture, have contributed to the development of a multi-layered folk belief in our valley.

Opening hours:
The valley museum is closed in summer 2020 and will open again in June 2021.
