Brünigpass
Fantastic, slightly longer snowshoe hike, mostly off the beaten track. Starting point is the Brünig Pass (terrain point 988 – parking spaces at Schwingerkurve)

From the Brünig Pass the rail climbs eastwards, crossing the railway tracks to Unghüri up to terrain point 985 where the ascent through the forest to Büel begins. At terrain point 1134 the trail heads further east, passing the Halgenfluenwald forest and finally reaches terrain point 1297, which is the highest point of this circular tour. It then goes in a northerly direction, passing the Haneggwald forest and zigzagging down the mountain to Bielen. It returns to Büel via the Schwendi and from there follows the ascent trail back to the Brünig Pass.

Public transport
Dank der zentralen Lage in Europa wird die Schweiz von über 12 Ländern mit Internationalen Zügen bedient. Innerhalb der Schweiz fahren Intercity-Züge von Basel und Luzern direkt in die Jungfrau Region. Reisende ab Zürich steigen in Bern um. Die Züge verkehren im Halbstundentakt.
Getting there
Mit dem Auto sind verschieden Anfahrtsmöglichkeiten vorhanden. Ab Genf führt der schnellste Weg über Bern. Ab Zürich oder Basel ist die Fahrt Richtung Luzern und Brünigpass am raschesten. Der Pass ist Sommer und Winter offen.
Von Süden führt die Anreise via Grimsel- oder Sustenpass in die Region. Die beiden Pässe sind nur im Sommer offen. Als Alternative steht der Simplonpass und anschliessend Lötschberg-Autoverlad zur Auswahl.
