The Lauterbrunnen Valley offers a variety of trail running routes through stunning mountain scenery. From easy valley routes to challenging alpine trails, there’s something for every ability level.

Lauterbrunnen offers trail running routes to suit all levels – from gentle paths through woods and meadows to challenging alpine trails. Popular walking routes can be particularly busy in July and August, as well as at weekends.

Equipment

Good preparation is crucial when trail running. Make sure your kit is suited to the route and the weather, and, as well as suitable shoes and clothing, pack plenty of fluids, snacks, a fully charged mobile phone and a wind or rain jacket.

  • Show respect: Say hello and thank you, and give way to pedestrians.
  • Stay on the path: Respect path closures and do not take shortcuts.
  • Look after the environment: Be considerate of animals and plants. Close gateways.
  • Leave no trace; take your rubbish with you.
