We respect nature

Stick to signposted paths.
Take your rubbish with you or dispose of it properly.
Respect animals, plants and farmland.
Enjoy nature without leaving a trace.
Use water and other resources mindfully.
Don't feed wild animals.
Only camp or bivouac in designated spots.
Only picnic in designated areas and at official fire pits.

We respect other people's homes

Respect private property and gardens: in Switzerland, private land isn't always fenced off or gated. If there's no sign saying otherwise, assume it's private property.
Be considerate in residential areas and in the evening.
Ask people for permission before photographing them or their homes.
A friendly "Grüezi" often opens more doors than any camera.

Travelling with consideration

Use public transport or mountain railways where possible.
Keep waiting areas and paths clear.
Wait your turn.
Only board the train or bus once everyone has got off.
Follow the instructions of staff and rescue services.
Allow plenty of time and enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
Be considerate of fellow travellers.
Only listen to music on public transport through headphones, never through a speaker.
Park only in official car parks.
Follow the traffic rules.
Find out in advance (Mürren and Wengen are car-free).
Only walk on pavements and avoid holding up traffic.
Be mindful of goods transport and public transport.
Take your rubbish with you or dispose of it at stations in the designated bins for waste, paper, PET and aluminium.
