Guided tour of the Mürren via ferrata
Mürren Via Ferrata – Adventure above the Lauterbrunnen Valley
The Mürren via ferrata is a spectacular experience directly below the mountain village of Mürren. You meet your mountain guide at Intersport Mürren-Schilthorn in Chalet Enzian, where you receive the necessary technical equipment and an introduction to via ferrata technique.
After a short walk to the starting point, the route begins on easier terrain. It soon becomes more impressive: at the Hammerecke, you find yourself around 600 metres above the Lauterbrunnen Valley while moving securely along the rock face.
The route continues past the base-jump platform. With a little luck, you may even see base jumpers taking off. The next highlight is the zip line: secured to the rope, you glide across the Mürrenbach to the other side of the rock face.
The final highlight is a suspension bridge above a gorge around 400 metres deep. Step by step, you cross to the other side before reaching Gimmelwald.
Duration: approx. 3–4 hours
Return journey
The via ferrata ends in Gimmelwald. From there, you can take the cable car back to Mürren or continue down into the valley to Stechelberg.
