Via ferrata Mürren
This via ferrata doesn’t lead uphill, but
downhill. This is no joke and definitely something a bit different! But it’s not just the via ferrata that goes downhill; the steep rock faces on the way to Gimmelwald also drop quite a long way down. The via ferrata is open exclusively from 1 June to 31 October, from 09:00 to 18:00.
Difficulty
The via ferrata is graded K3 (fairly difficult) on the SAC via ferrata scale.
In places, the route takes you over
steeper rocky terrain, but it is
well secured.
Safety
Anyone wishing to tackle the via ferrata must be in good physical condition, sure-footed and not prone to vertigo, and must have suitable equipment and knowledge of mountain safety.
Access to the base jump platform is
prohibited for visitors to the via ferrata.
Equipment
Climbing harness, via ferrata set, climbing helmet,
slings, webbing slings, screw-lock carabiners,
climbing rucksack, sturdy footwear and
gloves.
