Culture

During the Alpabzug in September, marking the beginning of fall in Lauterbrunnen, the cows make their way from the alp to the village. The herdsmen lead the decorated animals through the village streets, and many onlookers celebrate their arrival.
The view stretches across steep rock faces and green valley slopes deep into the Lauterbrunnen Valley. In the background, rugged mountain peaks such as the Breithorn and glaciers rise up, some of them shrouded in clouds.
